The fourth annual Maxwell Leprechaun Run, Vendor Fair and Pancake Breakfast will be held on Saturday, March 11, at Maxwell Elementary School, 146 North St.
Breakfast will be served from 7:30-10:30 AM for $6. Registration begins at 8 AM with races starting at 9 AM. Entry fee is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-17. Small children, strollers, and pets on leash are welcome. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, sponsored by Morning Star Packing Co., will be given for first, second, and third places in multiple age divisions for both the 1-mile and 5k.
The Leprechaun Run was established by the Maxwell Park and Recreation District and MPR Auxiliary last year as a way to get youth and adults outdoors for a little exercise after the winter months. There is no requirement to walk the entire course. Sauntering a block is also encouraged.
“This is a great event for beginners as well as hardcore walkers and runners,” said Tish Nerli, MPR Director and Auxiliary member.
Prizes will also be awarded to the fastest 5k runner of the day and for wearing the best “Green.”
