
Softball:
Colusa 1 – Yuba City 9 (2/26)
Colusa 18 – Corning 4 (2/27)
Opening its 2026 season last week with two evening home games, Colusa finished 1-1, falling to Yuba City before bouncing back to crush Corning.
Against the Honkers, the RedHawks were hitless through sixth frames, but in the bottom of the seventh, Braelyn Santana and Elli Quintana got back-to-back singles with Quintana ultimately coming into score on a walk issued to Zaylah Ramirez.
However, it was a completely different story the following night as Colusa, the beneficiary of 11 free passes, scored 10 runs in the first inning and tacked on six more in the second.
Marlie Berry finished 2 for 3, while Peyton Miller tripled.
This week, the RedHawks (1-1) traveled to Marysville on Monday and to Yuba City to play River Valley on Tuesday.
Pierce 15 – Williams 4 (2/26)
Relocated to Arbuckle due to soggy conditions on the Yellowjackets’ field, Pierce used it to their advantage with a resounding victory over their county rival.
A pair of freshmen had big days for the Bears as Anayeli Acevedo ended 2 for 2 with a home run, a double and four RBI, while Citlali Acevedo went 2 for 2 with a double and a pair of RBI.
Rylie Delepierre and Teagan Murphy combined for the win in the circle, striking out a total of seven ‘Jacket batters.
Pierce (1-0) continued to play at home this week, entertaining East Nicolaus on Monday, Orland on Wednesday and Princeton on Friday.

Baseball:
Colusa 18 – Lindhurst 2 (2/27)
Playing a day later than originally scheduled due to wet conditions had no ill-effect on the RedHawks as they man-handled visiting Lindhurst in their home opener.
Rowdy Moore led the hit parade going 4 for 5 with a double and two RBI, while Nick Alvarez went 3 for 3 with a double, four runs scored and a pair of RBI.
Juan Ramirez, Gio Velasquez and Mason Jennings picked up two hits apiece.
On the mound, Moore, Dane Codorniz and Ramirez struck out a combined 10 Blazer batters.
Things got tougher this week for the Colusa (1-0) as they played a series against Mesa Verde, having made its way to Citrus Heights on Mar. 3 before returning home to play the Mavericks on Mar. 5.
Pierce 3 – Mesa Verde 11 (2/26)
Pierce had a rough go of it in its home opener, garnering just four hits, while struggling mightily in the field making nine errors.
Colin Dye was 2 for 4, with Levi Delepierre and Jimmy Anderson accounting for the only other hits.
This week the Bears (0-1) hosted East Nicolaus on Mar. 2, then headed to north to face Corning on Mar. 3.
