COLUSA, CA (MPG) – After having last Monday’s matches against Hamilton City cancelled due to the rainy weather, the RedHawk girls and boys’ soccer teams took to the pitch two days later for their first matches of the new year where both posted shutout wins over visiting Maxwell.
In the first match of the double dip, the Colusa girls displayed some firepower coming away with the 8-0 victory.
Leading the charge for the RedHawks was Lizbet Ayala, as she ended the day with nine total points after scoring four times and assisting on another.
Also turning in an impressive performance was Natalee Stegall, who recorded her second hat trick of the season.
Two other standouts in the match were Itzel Cruz and Janell Garcia, with Cruz accounting for a goal and two assists, while Garcia finished a pair of assists.
Furthermore, both Cruz and Garcia were instrumental in allowing Colusa (5-4-1) to dominate possession by keeping the ball in the attacking half.
In the nightcap, the RedHawk boys (3-6-1) followed suit by dispatching the Panthers 4-0 behind a hat trick from Karmin Cruz.
Eric Gonzalez also put one in the back of the net for Colusa.
