Pierce softball 2-1 last week

Pierce’s Gicelle Condrey camps out underneath a fly ball in a game against Biggs on March 15. Condrey collected two hits in the 12-5 win.

Pierce got the bats going in its first two games last week, posting back-to-back wins over Biggs and Williams by scores of 12-5 and 15-5, respectively, but cooled off in Gridley where it was shutout by the Bulldogs, 9-0.

Hosting Biggs on March 15, Gicelle Condrey finished with two hits in the game, while Chasey Miller, Madysen Lannone, Maddie Burkhardt, Sofia Martinez, and Kaitlyn Nickell collected one apiece.

The Bears got a combined effort from Miller and Maicey Hoebel, in the circle, to fend off the Wolverines in the non-conference game.

Statistics from the contests against Williams and Gridley were not provided by the Bears (4-5), who opened Sacramento Valley League play Tuesday in Winters before returning home to complete the league series with the Warriors on Friday.
