Marilyn Margaret Azevedo

Marilyn Margaret Azevedo passed away peacefully on February 6th at the age of 91. She was born March 20, 1934 as Marilyn Jackson in Sacramento to her mother, Lois, where she lived and attended school until the age of 11 when she moved with her family to Maxwell.

She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1952 and after briefly attending the College of the Pacific in Stockton, she returned to Maxwell to marry her high school sweetheart Anthony John (Tony) Azevedo.

After Tony’s two-year stint in the Army, stationed in Louisiana, they returned to Maxwell to begin their life together farming and raising a family. They raised 3 children, Debbie, David And Danny. Marilyn was proud of her little town of Maxell and belonged to various social clubs over the years, but was most active in the American Legion Auxiliary where served as President for 6 years. She also was very active in the United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and her solo singing voice was often in demand for local weddings and other events. She was especially fond of playing bridge  and was a member of various local bridge clubs over the years.

Family always came first for Marilyn and she was always very active in, and supportive of all of her children’s activities and lives.

She was preceded in death by her mother Lois, her stepfather Irwin Dages, her husband Tony, and two young daughters Katheryn and Donna Louise. She is survived by her daughter Debbie and her husband Michael, her son Danny, her son David and his wife Kim, and their daughter Anuhea who she always described as her pride and joy.

Services will be Tuesday Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at the Maxwell United Methodist Church. Pastor Terry Deland officiating. Burial will follow at the Maxwell Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Maxwell Fire Dept. or Park & Rec.
