MAXWELL, CA (MPG) – Despite a big win over Williams to open their tournament, the Panthers suffered a loss to Hamilton City in their second game and as a result had to settle for third place after defeating Pierce in the final game.

In their opener on Mar. 7, Maxwell pitcher Bailee Haywood no-hit the Yellowjackets over three innings and struck out six as the Panthers emerged with the 12-0 victory.

To conclude the tournament, the Panthers overwhelmed Pierce 11-1 behind Haywood and Ava Barrett who each finished with a pair of hits.
