ARBUCKLE, CA (MPG) – It’s been a rough go of it for the Pierce baseball team this season and last week was no exception as they dropped a pair of non-league games to Live Oak and Delta respectively.
At home against a much-improved Live Oak squad on Mar. 18, the young Bears, with only three upperclassman on the roster, fell 3-16 despite collecting seven hits.
Connor Harris finished 2 for 3, while Colin Dye had a hit and two RBI and Alex Ramirez doubled.

Also collecting a hit apiece for Pierce was Damien Ambriz, Jimmy Anderson and Nathan Gomez.
Two days later against Delta (Clarksburg), a disastrous second inning proved too much to overcome as they suffered a 2-12 loss to the visiting Saints.

Easton Richins was the only Bear batter to record a hit and also scored a run.
Credit additionally goes to Dye who came on in relief to toss three scoreless innings in which he fanned six and allowed only two hits.
Pierce (2-7) was in Trowbridge on Mar. 25 to open Sacramento Valley League play against East Nicolaus before concluding the season series against the Spartans at home this afternoon.
