Colusa County Public Health will host a drive-thru flu shot clinic from 11 AM to 3 PM on Nov. 9 at the Colusa County Fairgrounds, 1303 10th Street (Hwy 20). Free Flu shots are available to individuals age 12 and up. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Health officials said flu shots can reduce the risk of getting sick from the influenza virus or may make symptoms milder if you get sick, reducing hospitalizations and deaths. Getting vaccinated can also help protect people who are at greater risk of getting seriously ill from flu, like older adults, people with chronic health conditions and young children (especially infants younger than 6 months old who are too young to get vaccinated). According to the World Health Organization, 290,000 to 650,000 people die of flu-related causes every year worldwide. â–
