Maxwell High School Rodeo – Events begin at 8 a.m. at the Maxwell Rodeo Grounds. Celebrating its 95th annual event with the theme “Come Alive for ’95,” the Maxwell High School Rodeo will feature a full day of activities, including a bull run, car show, art roundup, bench press, frog jump and vendors. Bear Pride Golf Tournament – Registration 8 a.m., shotgun start 9 a.m., Arbuckle Golf Course, 5918 Hillgate Rd., Arbuckle. Vintage Alumni Picnic – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sankey Elmwood Park, 4th and Parkhill streets, Colusa. Colusa High School alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago are invited to attend. Participants should bring their own food, drinks and chairs. A 50 50 raffle will be held to cover picnic expenses and award cash prizes. The Class of 1976 will be welcomed as new Vintage Alumni.

Stagehands Variety Show – 7 p.m. inside the Stagehands Theater at the Colusa County Fairgrounds, 1303 10th St., Colusa. The second annual variety show will feature local music, comedy skits, stand-up comedy and returning performers including Marco Valdez, Kelli Joel and Henry Finnen. Rod Brayfindley will serve as master of ceremonies. Tickets are $10 and available at the door. Guests should use the 9th Street entrance.

Arbuckle 150th Planning Meeting – 6 p.m., Arbuckle Revitalization Committee building, 309 5th St., Arbuckle. Residents are invited to help plan the town’s 150th celebration set for July 18. Organizers are seeking volunteers, ideas and nominations for community recognition.
Public Works Roadeo – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Colusa County Fairgrounds, 1303 10th St., Colusa. The free family event will feature timed equipment handling competitions between city and county public works crews, along with public works equipment displays and safety demonstrations in recognition of National Public Works Week. Free lunch will be provided by The Morning Star Packing Company while supplies last. The event is open to all ages.

Local artist Mark Vargo leads a follow-up workshop where youth ages 10 to 17 transform their original self-portrait collages using generative AI tools. Participants will explore digital techniques to expand and reinterpret their artwork, blending traditional collage with emerging technology. Organizers said Franklin has spent years creating quilts while teaching and encouraging other quilters to try new techniques and skills.
