Colusa 13 – Willows 1 (4/14)
Colusa 16 – Willows 0 (4/16)
Colusa found little resistance in a Sacramento Valley League series with Willows last week in a pair of run-ruled shortened games.
At home on April 14, RedHawk pitcher Bella Romero shutdown the Honkers going the full five innings where she struck out five.
At the plate, Peyton Miller went 2 for 4 with a triple and four RBI, while Cindel Oliver drove in a run as part of her 2 for 3 day.
Following up in Willows, Colusa pounded out 12 hits as they set the tone early, putting eight runs on the board in the first frame.
Braelyn Santana and Eli Quintana both doubled and picked up a pair of hits.
Santana also handled the pitching duties, striking out five and yielding just two hits.
This week generated some tougher competition for the RedHawks (12-6, 7-0) as they put their seven game win streak on the line in Susanville at the Lassen Tournament which runs April 24 and 25.

Pierce 14 – Esparto 4 (4/15)
Pierce 2 – Winters 15 (4/17)
Beginning last week with a non-conference victory over visiting Esparto, the Bears then suffered a loss to Sacramento Valley League rival Winters to make up a game that had been rained out.
At home against the Spartans, LucaBella Nolen had a big day at the plate going 3 for 4 with a double and five RBI, as did Rylie Delepierre, who finished 3 for 3 with a home run and two RBI.
Citlali Acevedo, Caley Dye and Frannie Sweet each had two hits.
In the circle, Dye went four innings scattering four hits, while Delepierre put in two innings of work in which she fanned four.
However, things didn’t go as well on the road in Winters as Pierce was limited to just three hits, a double by Acevedo and a hit apiece off the bats of Sweet and Madaline Corona.
Pierce (4-11, 0-5) made its way to Willows on Tuesday before completing the series with the Honkers in Arbuckle on Friday.

Maxwell 15 – Williams 0 (4/17)
Maxwell 21 – Williams 6
Due to wet conditions earlier last week, the two Mid-Valley League foes met for a doubleheader in Maxwell, where the Panters prevailed in a pair of run-rule shortened games.
Maxwell’s Emma Miller struck out 11 ‘Jacket batters and in the process recorded the shutout victory in the early game.
At the plate, everyone in the Panther lineup had at least one hit, although Sophia Lopez led the way going a perfect 4 for 4 and driving in three.
Jayleen Patino had a big day as well finishing 3 for 4 with two doubles and a triple, while Ruby Herrera was 3 for 3 with a double.
For the Yellowjackets’, Valeria Alias, Jaylene Ortega, Madison Stephens and Maria Felix all recorded a hit.
In the nightcap, Maxwell continued to see the ball well with Jada Lazarus going 4 for 4 and driving in six runs and Lizzy Sanapaw knocking in five as part of her 3 for 3 day.
Herrera stayed hot picking up three more knocks to go along with four RBI, while Reese Vierra also had a three-hit game and drove in a pair.
Lopez earned the win in the circle, fanning six in the process.
Stephens and Valeria Garcia had two hits apiece for Williams.
MVL action continued this week for both teams as the Panthers (8-10-1, 2-2) played an always tough Biggs team on the road on April 21, then returned home to complete the series with the Wolverines on April 24, while the Yellowjackets (0-12) were in Hamilton City on Tuesday and host the Braves on Friday.
