Boys:

Princeton 73 – Herlong 34 (1/16)

Princeton 67 – Herlong 34 (1/19)

Herlong proved no match for Pioneer League leader Princeton as the Eagles cruised past the Vikings in two games last week.

On the road for last Tuesday’s game, top scorer Junior Andrade poured in 31 points while Nate Ramirez dropped in 20 and Tito Reynoso finished with 11 points.

In the paint, Corwyn Roberson pulled down 15 boards as younger brother Chris Roberson collected 10 rebounds.

Following up on Friday at home, the Eagles again seemingly scored at will with Andrade ending the game an assist short of a double-double with 25 points and nine dimes.

Ramirez and Corwyn Roberson had 14 points apiece, while Chris Roberson hit double digits in rebounds again with 12.

Princeton (15-1, 6-0) hosted its alumni game on Saturday and this week plays Plumas Charter at home before making its way to Westwood to face the Lumberjacks.

 

Williams 55 – Hamilton City 49 (1/16)

Williams 65 – CORE Butte 54 (1/19)

After a rocky start to Mid-Valley League play resulting in a loss to Los Molinos, the ‘Jackets have responded with three straight wins including two over Hamilton City and CORE Butte last week.

Williams’s Diego Ambriz scored 31 and 25 points respectively in the Yellowjackets’ wins over Hamilton City and CORE Butte.

Despite scoring just two points in the second quarter in Hamilton City, Williams turned in a strong second half to triumph over the Braves.

Diego Ambriz, who has averaged 12.3 points per game thus far this season, erupted for 31 points to lead the way, while Kyden Bowen pitched in with 13 to help carry the load.

Returning home to face the visiting Lynx, it was Bowen who lit it up for 30 points, although Ambriz wasn’t far behind with a 25-point effort.

This week, the Yellowjackets (7-12, 3-1) were in Biggs on Tuesday before returning home for a rematch with Los Molinos tonight.

 

Girls:

Princeton 46 – Paradise Adventist Academy 15 (1/18)

Princeton’s Lupita Espinoza finished with a career-high 16 points in the Eagles’ win over PAA on Jan. 18.

In its only contest last week, the Eagles won their second game in a row over the Cougars as Lupita Espinoza tossed in a career-high 16 points.

Mackenzie Wills added 12 points for Princeton (3-8, 1-2) who hosted Plumas Charter on Jan. 23 and traveled to Westwood tonight.

 

Williams 11 – Hamilton City 60 (1/16)

Williams 16 – CORE Butte 50 (1/19)

Struggles continued for the Yellowjackets who dropped two Mid-Valley League games last week.

Against Hamilton City, Lupita Zuniga led Williams with seven points, 12 rebounds and six blocks.

No statistics from the game with CORE Butte were provided.

The ‘Jackets (1-11, 0-4) were in Biggs on Tuesday to start the week and will finish at home tonight against Los Molinos.
