Colusa Area Little League’s major division team made short work of the competition at the District 2 Tournament in Browns Valley, which ran from June 29 to July 8.
Composed of players ranging in age from 10 to 12, the Colusa All-Stars ran the table, outscoring their opponents 52-4 over five games.
Colusa rolled through the first three games, downing Olivehurst-Linda 16-1, Plumas Lake 15-0, and Middletown 5-0, respectively.
Although things got tougher in the semifinals against Sutter, Colusa prevailed 3-2 to reach the championship game against Peach Bowl.
Yet, Peach Bowl proved to be no match as Colusa cruised to a 13-1 win.
At the plate, Wyatt Roach went 3 for 3 with a home run and four runs scored, while Nick Alvarez was 2 for 3 with two doubles and Dane Codorniz finished 3 for 4.
Codorniz also had a strong outing on the mound going three innings, striking out six and scattering three hits before giving way to Christian Connor, who closed out the final two frames, fanning four in the process.
Colusa is in Anderson today at the California Section 2 All-Star Tournament where they face the District 48 team from Modoc County.
Five teams are participating in the double elimination tournament. ■
