Last week was a rough one for the Bears as they fell to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in the Sacramento Valley League, after dropping their series with Winters by scores of 10-4 and 13-0, respectively.
On the road March 22, Danny Rubio and Kaden Davis collected two hits apiece, while Ryan Travis, Luke Myers, and Sid Charter each had one, but the Bears could not hold off the Warriors, a team they beat 6-4 in a preseason game earlier this month.
In its second game of the week against the Warriors on Friday, Pierce was shutout by Winters, managing just three hits.
Travis, Bryce Murphy, and Brayden Hoebel were the only Bears to reach base in the run-rule shortened game.
Pierce was back in action in Paradise on Tuesday and will conclude their week when they welcome the Bobcats to town on Friday. ■
