Colusa 10 – Oroville 4 (3/24)
Colusa 0 – Durham 14 (3/25)
Colusa 2 – Durham 21 (3/27)
After closing out the preseason with a win over Oroville, the RedHawks had a much tougher go of it against Durham to open Sacramento Valley League play as they dropped the season series to the Trojans.
Against Oroville, Charlie Faris had a big day going 4 for 4, Carson Cain was 3 for 5, while Gio Velasquez and Mason Jennings finished with two hits apiece.
Jacob Pina turned in a solid effort on the mound, scattering three hits and fanning eight before giving way to Dane Codorniz and Faris, who struck out the side in each of their respective one inning of work.
However, things did not go as well against Durham as Colusa managed just two hits in the shutout loss at home, which came off the bats of Jennings and Faris.
In Durham, Pina drove in the RedHawks’ only two runs with a double.
This week, Colusa (3-11, 0-3) was in Winters on March 30, before returning home to play their SVL rival on Apr. 3.
Maxwell 14 – Mt. Shasta 13 (3/27)
Maxwell 2 – Mt. Shasta 15

No statistics were available from a wild doubleheader with the visiting Bears in which the Panthers came from behind in the first game, but could not get much going in the nightcap.
Maxwell (8-4) opened Mid-Valley League play on Apr. 1 with a doubleheader in Portola.
Pierce 7 – East Nicolaus 22 (3/27)
An SVL matchup on the road against the Spartans resulted in a blowout loss for the Bears, however there were several bright spots.
Mikey Acevedo went 2 for 4 with a double, triple and three RBI, Connor Harris picked up a pair of hits and Colin Dye hit a two-run home run.
Pierce (1-9, 0-2) entertained Paradise on Tuesday, then hit the road to complete the series with the Bobcats on Thursday.
