COLUSA COUNTY, CA (MPG) – Last week was not kind to the local high school basketball teams as they all saw their seasons effectively come to an end after falling in their respective divisions in the Northern Section CIF playoffs.
In the most competitive contest, the No. 9 Pierce girls, despite a career high 27 points from senior Jaslene Condrey, were edged on the road in Susanville as No. 8 Lassen prevailed 62-60 in a Division IV game played on Feb. 17.
Condrey went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc and shot 53 percent overall from the floor, but it wasn’t enough.
Rylie Delepierre added 13 points, while in their final game for the Bears, Destany Martinez and Nita Rodriguez pulled down 12 and nine rebounds respectively.
Playing on Feb. 18 in another Division IV clash, the No. 11 seeded Colusa girls traveled to Yreka to play the No. 6 Miners where they were outscored 39-23 in the second half and as a result suffered a 46-55 loss.

Peyton Miller scored a team-high 20 points, Abby Coronado finished with nine points and Braelyn Santana chipped in with eight points.
As for the Maxwell, the No. 10 Panthers forfeited their Division VI game against No. 7 Etna rather than make the trek in inclement weather.
Meanwhile, the boy’s teams each suffered similar fates, although no statistics were provided.
No. 7 Princeton dropped their Division VII game on the road to No. 2 Happy Camp by a score of 49-75 last Monday, while the following evening in Division IV, No. 15 Williams lost 43-101 to No. 2 Oroville and No. 12 Pierce was defeated by No. 5 West Valley 45-55.
In Division VI, No. 6 Maxwell fell 34-64 to No. 3 Hayfork on Feb. 19, then in the final game of the week, No. 9 Colusa succumbed to No. 8 Lassen 58-69.
