Pierce (11-1-2, 5-0-2) maintained the top spot in the Sacramento Valley League standings last week with victories over Colusa and Winters although no statistics were made available.

Unbeaten since falling to Lindhurst in penalty kicks back on Dec. 12 at the Live Oak Tournament, the Bears hosted second place Williams, the only other team without an SVL loss, on Tuesday.

Williams 4 – Willows 0 (2/3)
Williams 4 – Colusa 0 (2/5)

Yellowjacket goalkeeper Brian Jimenez, who is filling in for an injured Jose Pineda, kept two clean sheets last week in easy wins over Willows and Colusa.

Julian Garcia recorded a brace and an assist, while Jorge Saavedra and Gio Velazquez each scored once in the shutout over the Honkers.

Goals by Velazquez, Leo Esparza, Max Garcia and Julian Garcia lifted the ‘Jackets to a win over county rival Colusa.

To round out the regular season Williams (6-1-4, 3-0-3) made the short trip to Maxwell for a non-conference match on Feb. 9, traveled to Arbuckle to face Pierce on Feb. 10, then hit the road again on Feb. 12 to play Winters.

Maxwell 5 – Los Molinos 1 (2/2)
Maxwell 0 – Hamilton City 9 (2/5)

The Panthers went 1-1 last week against Mid-Valley Legue opponents and as a result sit third in the standings.

Statistics were not provided by Maxwell (6-4-1, 6-3-1) who played non-conference home matches against Williams and Colusa on Monday and Wednesday respectively before making the drive up to “The Ridge” to square off against MVL rival Paradise.

Colusa 0 – Williams 4 (2/5)

Rivalry week did not go well for a depleted RedHawk squad as they dropped two Sacramento Valley League matches last week.

Ricardo Hernandez scored the lone goal for Colusa (4-11-2, 1-5-1), which closed out the regular season by playing Feb. 11 in Maxwell before hosting Willows on Feb. 12.

Williams 2 – Colusa 5 (2/5)

 Although the Yellowjackets picked up their first SVL win of the season against Willows, they couldn’t replicate their success and fell to Colusa.

Lorielle Contreras and Fernanda Avila accounted for the ‘Jackets’ two goals in the win over the Honkers, while Darielle Navarro had a brace in the loss to Colusa.

This week was a busy one for Williams (2-6-2, 1-3-2) who subsequently played in Maxwell, Pierce and Winters on Feb. 9, Feb. 10 and Feb. 12.

Pierce 0 – Winters 11 (2/5)

Pierce could not put one in the back of the net last week as they were shutout in both Sacramento Valley League matches.

In its only contest this week, the Bears (4-9-1, 1-5-1) hosted Williams on Tuesday.

Maxwell 5 – Los Molinos 1 (2/3)
Maxwell 0 – Hamilton City 5 (2/5)

No statistics were provided by the Panthers who defeated Los Molinos at home before suffering a shutout on the road in Hamilton City.

Maxwell (2-8, 2-6) returned home to play Williams on Monday, Colusa on Wednesday, ahead of a match in Paradise on Thursday.
