Maxwell 37 – Biggs 40 (1/23)
Last week’s efforts resulted in two competitive Mid-Valley League home games for the Panthers who edged Quincy by three points before falling to Biggs by the same number.
A double-double from Miyah Reyes which included 25 points and 12 rebounds paced Maxwell in its win over the Trojans, but the sophomore got help from Ruby Herrera who tossed in 10 points along with Bethany Wilson and Karina Perez who pitched in with 10 rebounds apiece.
In the narrow loss to the Wolverines, Reyes recorded her second double-double of the week having gone for 10 points and 11 boards.
Back at it this week, the Panthers (11-10, 2-2) welcomed Portola and Hamilton City to town on Jan. 27 and Jan. 30 respectively.
Pierce 36 – Durham 47 (1/20)
Pierce 22 – East Nicolaus 38 (1/22)
The Bears could not find an answer for their two Sacramento Valley League rivals last week as they dropped a pair of games.

Struggles to score in the second and third quarters doomed Pierce in its home loss to Durham despite a 16-point performance from Rylie Delepierre and 10 rebounds from Destany Martinez.
On the road to face East Nicolaus, things did not go well on the offensive end of the court in their setback at the hands of the Spartans.
