Princeton 44 – Dunsmuir 38

DUNSMUIR, CA (MPG) – After dropping its first game of the year to Hayfork and having to forfeit then next to Big Valley because of injuries, Princeton came from behind last Thursday to earn a road win.

Finding itself down 36-38 in the final minute and facing a fourth and 30, Eagles quarterback Brock Heater connected with Corwyn Roberson for a 70-yard touchdown, then tacked on the two-point conversion to lift Princeton over Dunsmuir in a California-Division II 8-Man League contest.

In addition to the touchdown grab, Roberson ran wild carrying 13 times for 214 yards and four more touchdowns, while also leading the Eagles in tackles with 15.

For his part, Heater rushed 13 times for 130 yards and a touchdown, then collected eight tackles on defense. Also helping the cause was Chris Roberson who made nine tackles.
Princeton (1-2) is back at it tonight when Herlong comes to town.

Pierce 26 – Paradise 21

PARADISE, CA (MPG) – Pierce took a 20-7 lead into the fourth quarter last Friday night at Om Wraith Field in Paradise, then held off the hometown Bobcats’ rally after Roberto Ramirez made a game-saving interception in the red zone.

No statistics from the game were available.

Riding a three-game win streak, the Bears (4-1) have a bye this week and will prepare for its Sacramento Valley League opener in Colusa on October 6.
