WILLIAMS, CA (MPG) – After honoring their four seniors in a prematch ceremony, the Yellowjackets went on to sweep visiting Biggs 25-13, 25-9, 25-13 in their season finale.
In her last match for Williams, Estefany Carabeo had a strong all-around effort, recording six aces, four kills, five assists and six digs, while fellow seniors Lupita Zuniga and Caitlyn Ruiz finished with five and four kills respectively.
Showing potential for the future, JV call-up Lupita Rivera handed out five assists and made 13 digs with juniors Daisy Ruiz and Yurydia Rocha subsequently making 10 and eight digs.
With the win, the ‘Jackets (9-14, 3-7) snapped a four-match slide against Mid-Valley League opponents and finished the season tied with Portola for fourth place.
However, things bode well for the future given that Williams has a key group of returning players and a powerhouse JV team that went undefeated for the season.
