COLUSA, CA (MPG) – Last week was a busy one for the RedHawks, who won three consecutive matches against Corning, River Valley, and Marysville, before going 3-3 at Sutter’s Battle of the Buttes Tournament.
Traveling to Corning on Aug. 22, Colusa cruised to a 25-20, 25-18, 25-13 win, before returning home to hold off River Valley 25-21, 28-26, 25-18, on Aug. 23, and Marysville 25-17, 23-25, 25-14, 25-22, on Aug 24.
From there, the RedHawks advanced to the finals of the silver bracket in Sutter but ran out of gas in the championship match against Fall River.
The only statistics made available prior to the submission deadline were those from the River Valley match, where Elle Faris had 11 kills, nine digs and five aces; Abril Guzman made 16 digs and 26 service receptions; and Addison Lay handed out 13 assists.
Colusa, now 7-4 in the preseason, welcomed Yreka and Sutter to Don Bransford Gymnasium on Aug. 29 and 30, respectively, before hitting the road to face Colfax on Aug. 31.
