Ducks Finish Season Strong

Colusa, CA (MPG) – The Colusa Ducks competed in Las Vegas July 11-15 in the YSSF Open National Tournament. The near record temperatures didn’t stop the shooting club from taking home awards in Skeet Sporting Clays and Trap.

In the Skeet IA division, Robert Shadley placed first with 188/200; Max Reading placed fourth with 165/200. In the Skeet IE division, Caleb Manhart placed second with 170-200.
In the Rookie division, Riley Pearson placed second with 148/200. Second place IA squad winners were Max Reading, Jayce Lee, and Riley Pearson. The JR Club High 3 earned first place Team award.

In Sporting Clays, Robert Shadley placed second in the IA division with 88/100; Jacey Lee placed fourth with 79/100. In the IE division, Caleb Manhart placed second with 79/100. Rookie Riley Pearson placed third with 60/100. First place IA squad winners were Robert Shadley, Max Reading, and Jayce Lee. Braeden Barmen, Caleb Manhart, and Riley Pearson were the third-place squad in the JV division. The JR Club High 3 earned first-place Team award.

In Trap, Robert Shadley placed third in the IA division with 189/200, and Jacey Lee placed fourth with 186/200. Caleb Manhart placed second in the IE division.

The Ducks Also won the second-place award for high overall team.

“We shot really good all week in the heat, and, with half the kids we had as last year, we still finished the season strong,” said Head Coach Bruce Hardwick.

The Ducks will be starting the new Sporting clay season in August.H
