So Rocky Dog has become a little Houdini Dog. Three times this week, he’s managed to slip out a door or gate and tour the park where we stay when in California.
At least we’re meeting more of our neighbors when we search for him.
Our time here is nearing an end. But first, we have a few things on our calendar. Yesterday, we did an early birthday lunch for Tom. My sister Ann and brother-in-law Samuel joined us for a special meal of Cajun chicken (or “The Chicken,” as my family calls it).
I enjoy using my cooking talents and am thankful to have had great cooking role models growing up.
We should do things that give us pleasure. Practice the things you like to do, and eventually, you’ll actually be pretty good at them.
The reason we are here this time of year, though, is to celebrate the marriage of Gracie Meek and Nick Baird. I watched Gracie grow up and consider her family. I wouldn’t miss this wedding.
Sadly, we will once again miss the annual Grimes Ladies Aid Dinner and Bazaar. It’s scheduled for Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. at Grand Island Elementary in Grimes. Go if you can. You won’t regret it.
So on we go. We’ve chased the dog, spent time with family and friends and just enjoyed a change of pace in our Cali nest. We feel blessed for sure.
Life is good today.
