Calling all Wimpy Kid fans! Greg Heffley is back, and we’re throwing a party to celebrate! Join us at the library on October 29, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., for a fun-filled celebration of the latest book in Jeff Kinney’s wildly popular Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. We promise it’ll be more fun than homework!
The newest book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Fight or Flight, is the 21st installment in the series. This time, Greg has been keeping a secret binder filled with notes about his school’s biggest bullies, along with strategies for outsmarting them. But when the binder falls into the wrong hands, Greg finds himself in serious trouble. Can he keep his secrets from being exposed, or will he have to face the bullies head-on?
Whether you’ve been following Greg’s hilarious misadventures from the very beginning or are just discovering the series, this party is for you! We’re planning an evening packed with games, activities and plenty of Wimpy Kid fun. Bring your friends, test your knowledge of Greg and his family, and see if you can make it through the party without catching the dreaded Cheese Touch. And while we can’t promise a live performance by Löded Diper, we can promise a party that rocks!
And here’s the really exciting part: thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Colusa County Free Library, kids throughout Colusa County will have a chance to win their very own copy of Fight or Flight, no mom bucks necessary!
The Friends of the Library have also made sure Greg Heffley’s adventures are available to even more young readers. In addition to sponsoring our celebration and book giveaway, they’ve generously funded replacements for missing copies of the series and helped fill out our collection of Spanish-language editions. Now even more families can enjoy Greg’s unforgettable adventures, whether they prefer to read in English or Spanish.
Their continued support helps keep our shelves stocked with the books kids love and makes special events like this possible. We’re grateful to the Friends for helping us bring more stories, more laughter and more opportunities to read to children across Colusa County.
So, mark your calendars, grab your fellow Wimpy Kid fans and join us for an evening of games, laughter and the chance to take home a brand-new book.
Just remember: bring your friends, leave your homework at home, and whatever you do, DON’T TOUCH THE CHEESE!
