This is a week of remembrance and reflection.
A year ago, Sept. 10 Charlie Kirk was assassinated. Twenty-five years ago, Sept. 11, the planes hit the towers.
Americans died. We were told my late husband David would die. He was gone in nine months.
It’s often been said Sept. 12 was a day we should remember as well. On the 12th Americans came together. We suddenly became a nation united. We were proud of our country, its policies and its freedoms.
Now, although we say never forget, we seem to have done just that.
Instead of uniting we have separated and fought against one another. Defending the U.S. has become secondary. Shame on us.
Maybe we should focus on how we can go back to the memory of September 12. We had united pride on that day.
This past week I went with my daughters and granddaughters to see singer Benson Boone. Time with my girls with the bonus of an outstanding show was a great time.
I do love and appreciate the way these girls love, respect and include me. I am one lucky grandma and mama.
This week Tom and I will head for California. We do love our time there with friends and family.
Life is good today.
