I’m a sap for tradition. Little things repeated year after year are important to me. It’s a way for families to come together and be reminded of the importance of being with one another.
A few years ago, I started hosting my daughters Velvet and Tiffany for a combined birthday dinner. Their ages this year totaled 103. Wow, I look pretty good to have kids that old.
For this gathering, I always make the favorite foods of each of the girls.
Although we end up with a hodgepodge of dishes, it’s all good. Everyone takes home leftovers.
Last night was this year’s dinner. We deemed it a success.
The most important thing is that we are together. I feel more than blessed to have these two continue to love me and want to spend time with me.
The bonus is daughter-in-law Becky and granddaughters Lea and Latrice. I am equally blessed to have these three in our family.
Coming up, the girls and I are taking a road trip to Casper, Wyoming. We’ll see singer Benson Boone.
I wasn’t familiar with his music but found I like it. He’s one of Lea’s favorite artists.
We still have lessons to learn from our youth.
Admittedly, I’m most looking forward to time with my girls. Again, I’m blessed by these young women.
Life is good today with a promise of getting better each day.
