Life is Good: Journey on…

Life is a journey. It’s a book of many chapters.

I can’t complain that my book is not that far from its final chapter.

The other chapters have been rich and full of blessings, with an abundance of friends and family who have loved and guided me.

I’ve had the joy of watching my children and grandchildren grow and improve with each chapter.

This summer, my grandson Vaughn has worked for us. The boy knows how to work hard and has his dad’s talent for fixing things. That tells me he listens and learns when his dad teaches him life’s lessons.

It goes to show the benefits of hands-on parenting.

I was 17 when my darling niece Sonya was born. I watched her grow into a great kid and an even better adult. I’m proud of her and her caring heart for others. She has spent a lifetime taking care of people.

This week she will be visiting us in North Dakota. I can’t wait to get her here. It’s time she was pampered a little. She’s earned it.

She’s a country girl at heart. A visit to the Dakotas will be just right for her.

Her mother, Betty, treated me special my whole life. Now that Betty is gone, it’s my pleasure to mother her child a bit.

It’s the people in your life who make the ups and downs of your journey worthwhile.

Life is good today.
