Here we are back in North Dakota.
The trip was uneventful. The only snag was weather delaying us by one day getting here. It all worked out. Sometimes a forced day of rest is what we need. An extra day in a hotel, watching movies and having food delivered, is not all that bad.
One stroke of luck was our decision not to stay a second day in Pocatello. Horrendous winds struck there after we left. My granddaughter’s business was hit hard and sustained considerable damage.
Before we got home, our friend Scott Trotter cleared the driveway and walkway for us. It made unloading much easier. We always appreciate the time he takes to look out for us. He even rescued our trampoline after it blew over the back fence in high winds.
Today we jumped into unpacking and regrouping. We have a lot going on in the coming weeks, so we need to stay on top of it.
We do love being back in our North Dakota home, but we will admit we are happy it will start warming up this week. We got a little spoiled by the lack of ice on the ground in California.
Sadly, we lost another friend and neighbor while we were gone. Joel Erickson was one of those people we loved. A longtime friend and a great neighbor. He will be missed.
Appreciate the people around you for as long as you have them. Life is good today.
