Rejuvenation at the Coast

By Kathy Craigo Harteis

All it takes is time at the coast to rejuvenate yourself.

We had a few days at a beautiful little inn in Mendocino.

Sleeping with the window open, listening to the waves and smelling the sea air has a wonderful, peaceful effect.

It is our first stay in a bed and breakfast. I must admit I like the pampering.

Yesterday was a rainy day that relegated us back to our room early.

We watched the Super Bowl. Not too exciting. It was kind of a walkaway for the Seahawks. As far as halftime goes, I am old and did not know who Bad Bunny was. Regardless, since NFL stands for National Football League, I would expect halftime to be in English. I am just a little old lady brought up in a Christian, conservative home, so what do I know? I am sure a lot of people enjoyed it. I just think I would more enjoy a performance I could understand.

And so, it goes.

This week I tried to give away an item on Facebook. Immediately, someone offered to buy it. I explained it was free. This person went into a long explanation about how he wanted to pay. That was a red flag when he kept insisting. It screamed scam, so I shut him down. If these people spent as much time on a real job as they do trying to rob others, it would be a lot better.

All is well. The item is now going to a person I know and like.

One more day at the coast. Life is good today.
