Get a Grip

There is a of ugliness in our world these days.

I just don’t get it.

Recently I once again heard someone say they wished we could go back to the way we were on September 12.

Have we forgotten how it was on that day of unity? We all expressed pride in our country. We all looked out for one another. We were proudly flying our Flag instead of watching it burn.

Sadly, these days it’s become more the norm to fight against, judge or accuse one another.

As much as we want to do the right thing to help people seemingly in need, it’s tougher to overcome the fear of injury if we help. It’s a challenge.

Last week we visited a Fort Bragg shop where the elderly owner welcomed us to the pot smoke-filled shop wearing only a bathrobe, slippers and a hat.

His helper told us they tried to get him to get dressed and not to smoke so much but he didn’t listen.

It made me wonder if the old guy was on to something. Instead stressing over the insanity of our world, he happily wore his robe and slippers and puffed away on his weed. I doubt he spends a lot of time fretting on what he can’t fix.

I’m not saying everyone should get stoned and forget their worries. I would advocate that we all find a way to get a grip on our lives.

I’d say start at the top with our elected leaders.

Think about it folks. Should we go back to way it was on September 12? Couldn’t hurt.

Make life good today.
