Wrapped in Ice

As I write I’m realizing I should be on my way to Oceanside, Ca. If there as planned, I’d  be enjoying 60 degree weather.

As it is here in ND it’s wind chill -12 right now. We can expect more than -20 tonight.

Yet here I set my foot and ankle wrapped in ice packs.

My best friends have become a variety of massage boots, heat booties and ice wraps.

Tomorrow will be a better day or so the story goes.

I’m not much of a football fan but it seems the right thing to do to watch the Super Bowl.  I kind of wanted the Chiefs to win because it would have been a big record set. That and I like Mahones.

The pre-game show was great. Who doesn’t like Harry Connick Jr back in New Orleans?

Sorry, I don’t want to comment on the Half Time Show. It wasn’t to my liking, I guess.

Tomorrow is my sister Ann’s birthday. Sadly, she’s been battling some awful bug. Instead of celebrating she’s in the emergency room tonight for the second time since last Friday.

Ann and I laugh a little about how old we have gotten. I’m realizing it’s tough to age. We just have to try harder.

Thinking back to our youth in Colusa County, Ca, it seems to have been perfect. Life was simpler then.  It’s too bad we didn’t appreciate it at the time.

Memories are sweet though.

Life is good today.
