Walk of Faith

I was nine years old when I took my first walk of faith.

My folks had taken us to a Billy Graham crusade in Sacramento, Ca.

I remember listening to the message and the music.

When the alter call began I knew I wanted to go forward. So my daddy offered his hand and we walked together among the sea of people making the same journey.

My journey of faith is ongoing.

I’ve never been the perfect, never faltering Christian. I’ve slipped and I’ve recovered. I’ve repeatedly been forgiven.

In recent days I’ve seen Billy Graham’s son Franklin Graham. He’s boots on the ground bringing help with Samaritan’s Purse to the flood victims.

Every time I see him or hear his so much like his father’s voice my faith in humanity is once again renewed.

No matter the criticism of faith we may hear today, there are still among us people dedicated to walking the walk, giving a hand and looking out for others.

We are all facing challenges in our lives these days. One day at a time we will make it to the end of each path set before us.

I’m a longtime believer that God has chosen a path for each of us. I don’t think he’ll let us fall anywhere he can’t pick us up.

Keep walking your path.

Life is good today.
