Life is good today – Anticipation

As I write, it is very early Christmas Eve morning. The anticipation of the day has me awake in the wee hours.

Later the house will be filled with my kids and grandkids. It is my favorite time when we’re all together.

I’m pretty proud of myself this year. I prepped and prepared, a little at a time. The scene is set, decorations and tables are in place, and the celebration foods are prepared. I even had time for a nap yesterday.

My kids tend to worry about the old girl wearing herself down. I made a concentrated effort to make my life easier this year. It’s all good.

Tom helped me a lot yesterday, so that helped too.

The birth of a boy child in a manger is the focal point of celebrating. Christmas week is also the birthday of grandson Vaughn. Just as we do each year, we had a pre-Christmas party to celebrate our boy. It’s hard to believe he is 12 now. I’m proud of the young man that he is becoming. He is just a good human, as they say.

We, like so many others in the nation, have experienced some pretty brutal weather in the last few days. It saddened me to hear of so many people stranded and unable to be with family.

I pray for the people stranded or struggling. I pray for the animals and those who care for them.

If you are safe, fed and warm, count your blessings. Try your best to spread some cheer to others and lend a hand where you can.

God bless you all. Stay safe and rejoice.

Life is good today.
