This week, the Craigo Clan celebrates three milestones. Grandson Bodhi will be 1, grandson Gage hits 16, and daughter-in-law Becky is celebrating 40 years of awesomeness. It’s going to be a fun week.
When Bodhi was born last year, the realization of how old I’ll be when he graduates from high school hit me. That wasn’t a thought I relished much.
You get to a point in your life when you start to panic a little. You have those moments of wondering how long you can do some things. You also have ambitions to get more done.
This year, I have taken this chapter of life seriously. I’m actively working on and getting closer to finishing a few goals.
Next month, I’ll reunite with my gal pals from 50 plus years ago. We have all gone our separate ways in the last few years. But, once a year, we get together for an annual girl’s trip.
Again, with each passing year, I wonder how long I’ll be able to make the trip. I will until I can’t!
I wonder what our world will be like by the time the grandkids are my age. Honestly, I don’t think we’ve done such a great job preserving all that was given to us.
If we look back on years past, we will see the good and bad of it all. We could have done better. I hope that generations to come will do better.
I’ve been sick for the last few days, so I’ve pampered myself, stayed in bed, and watched a lot of television.
My programs of choice are documentaries and cooking shows. Each brings the opportunity to learn.
I’ve continued to learn the tricks of good food preparation. I’ve also been reminded of the good and bad of it, all of our history. While there are some great memories of simpler times, we could have also done better. The best we can do is work at improving our futures.
Life is good today. ■
