Life is Good: Does the heart good

I think winter is getting to me. It’s not that we’ve had so much snow, it’s just that it’s been so cold.

We haven’t really wanted to go out much. With memories of quarantine looming, staying home so much starts to get to you.

The bright spot in my life this week was phone calls with friends. I visited with best buddy, Ben, in California and with adopted brother and sister, Gary and Katherine, in Georgia. We were all together almost daily. Now, physical visits are far and few between.

Isn’t it special though to know that we can still connect? Even a telephone call can bring us together again. We can laugh and enjoy one another’s company even long distance.

I have been more than blessed with special people in my life.

Family is wonderful, and there is no doubt that we need them. Friendship is vital to our well being.

Recently, my friend Carolan was named chair of the Western Fair Association. It did my heart good to see this announcement. She has been loyal to county fairs since she was a teenager. No matter what came her way, her heart has been with the best interest and promotion of the fairs.

I’m proud of her and the work she has done.

I’m starting to think about my next road trip. It won’t be long before I head out for my annual girls trip in California. Prayers and fingers crossed for good weather and good roads.

I love the trip, but I’m realizing I’m maybe a bit older now. I found myself planning shorter driving days.

No worry, I’ll shop if I get somewhere earlier in the day. It’s all good.

Cold as it is, life is good today.
