Linda Ferris, known in Arbuckle by her maiden name of Linda Hill, professionally in Placer County as Linda Logoteta and born Linda Jessie Hill in Alameda California, died at home in Auburn, early in the morning of Dec. 17, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. She was lovingly watched over by her son Tony Logoteta and husband Steve Ferris.
Linda lived a long and full life and is survived by her husband, Steve; son Tony and his wife Deanna, their children Johnny, Chase, Sophia and Eliana; her daughter Anne Mobley and her husband Marcus, their children Jackson, Ryan and Norah; step-sons Aaron Ferris; Val Ferris and his wife Sarah and Kit Ferris and his wife Mel.
She was one of five children by Ron and Kay Hill. Her sister Kathie is deceased; but she is survived by her brother John and his wife Jo, her sister Diane and her brother Ken.
Linda’s most satisfying accomplishment was her children and grandchildren and deeply loved being called “Mom” and “Grandma Linda.” She was full of pride in her children and grandchildren.
Linda graduated with the Class of 1965, Pierce High School, Arbuckle, where she was elected class president; sang with the rock and roll band which performed in school dances; was voted most talented along with classmate, Frank Norris; and the yearbook co-editor with Lana Hoffman.
After leaving Colusa County, she ended up in the Placer County town of Auburn.
She chose the career of real estate agent and then broker for the flexibility it gave her to be available for her family when they needed her.
She began in 1978 and was named as “Rookie of the Year” at her brokerage the first full year she served. Soon she became a Broker. She won countless awards during her 48 year career. The most prestigious was “Realtor Emeritus” by the National Association of Realtors late in her career in recognition of her long and dedicated service. She enjoyed continually increasing her knowledge in her field and received much pleasure in sharing her encyclopedic grasp of the field with others. She loved helping her clients and their families. She had many families where she helped consecutive generations: grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren find or sell their homes. She was also a partner building “spec” houses during the 80’s and enjoyed it as a sideline. When her husband, Steve, retired from his painting contracting business, he joined Linda and they became “The Logoteta-Ferris Team”.
Through Citizen’s Commission on Human Rights, Linda helped to educate thousands of parents about the dangers of having their children drugged with dangerous and addictive drugs. She founded a branch of CCHR in her hometown of Auburn. She contributed to an expose by USA Today on the dangers of Electric Shock “Therapy” or ECT. She acted as a liaison with the California Legislature to educate them on pending legislation affecting human rights. And she testified on legislative hearings on that subject. She co-produced several videos on the subject of human rights which were shown on 5 regional public access TV stations for several years. She was a volunteer minister for her church helping many people in need.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Sunday, March 15. The memorial will be at 1:00 and will be followed by a reception, food and a life display. Linda would like all her friends and family to attend. The memorial will be at the Church of Scientology of Sacramento, 1007 6th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.
In lieu of flowers, Linda would like you to give to the charity of your choice.
She will be roundly missed by friends, family and associates.
