Janet Ruth Allen

Janet Ruth Allen passed away July 31, 2023. She was born October 19,1928 to Gilbert and Ruth Allen, both from pioneer families of Colusa and Sutter Counties. Janet lived most of her life in Colusa County. In high school she worked at the Colusa Post Office. Later she worked for McNary/Moore for 15 years. She then worked for Colusa Drug Store until retirement. Janet married Jack W. Staple, a Colusa boy on January 31, 1948. Together they raised two daughters, Jay (Ken) Flagor and Janice (Chris) Lauppe of Alturas. Janet was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren in her almost 95 years of life. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, and sisters Pat Schaad of Williams and Joyce Godon of Colusa. She is survived by the remaining “Allen Sisters” Bobbie Jo Seaver and Janita Smith, both of Colusa.
