Chess, Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing Offered Through Colusa Recreation

COLUSA, CA (MPG) – The City of Colusa Recreation Department is offering several weekly activities at City Hall aimed at providing fitness opportunities and community engagement for residents of all ages.

Free Community Chess is held each Sunday at Colusa City Hall, 425 Webster St. Beginner lessons are offered from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by open gameplay from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program is open to all ages and skill levels and is free to attend.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Colusa Recreation also offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Auditorium. The program is open to participants ages 10 through adult and costs $40 per month.

Kickboxing classes are also available twice a week. Kids Kickboxing for ages 4 to 8 meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 p.m., while Power Cardio Kickboxing for ages 15 and older begins at 7 p.m. Both classes take place in the City Hall Auditorium. Participants may attend for $8 per drop in class or $40 per month.
