COLUSA, CA (MPG) – The Friends of the Colusa County Library will host their annual meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the Colusa County Library, 738 Market St. in Colusa. The meeting is open to members and the public and will include a guest presentation by longtime journalist Bob Dunning.
The annual meeting serves as a chance for members to review the organization’s work over the past year and look ahead to the months to come. According to the Friends group, the agenda includes the presentation of the annual financial report, the election of officers for 2026 and updates on the status of the library and the Friends of the Library organization.
In addition to the business portion of the meeting, attendees will hear from Dunning, who spent decades as a columnist and reporter with the Davis Enterprise and remains well known throughout the Sacramento Valley for his storytelling and commentary on community life.
“Generally, we have an author who would talk about their book, but this year we have Bob Dunning formerly of the Davis Enterprise,” said Cynthia White, a member of Friends of the Colusa County Library.
Dunning’s career has included extensive coverage of local government, higher education and everyday life in Northern California. He is also known for mentoring young journalists and for his long association with the University of California, Davis. His appearance is expected to offer a mix of reflections on journalism, community reporting and personal experiences from a career spent observing and writing about local life.
Friends of the Colusa County Library is a volunteer organization that supports library programs, collections and services through fundraising and community engagement. The group regularly sponsors events and initiatives designed to encourage reading, lifelong learning and public access to information.
Library supporters say the annual meeting provides an easy entry point for new members interested in becoming involved, while also giving longtime supporters a clearer picture of how funds and volunteer efforts are used.
