COLUSA, CA (MPG) – The Colusa County Chamber of Commerce outlined new membership options and digital outreach tools during its quarterly meeting Thursday, Jan. 22, at Rocco’s Bar and Grill.
About 30 business owners and community members attended the meeting, which focused on increasing visibility for local businesses and expanding how the chamber connects with residents.
Executive Director Jack Cunningham, the primary speaker, said the chamber’s recent efforts center on making local businesses easier to find as consumers decide where to shop, eat and do business.
“It’s about visibility,” Cunningham said. “Making sure local options show up when people are deciding where to shop, eat and do business.”
Cunningham presented the chamber’s updated tiered membership structure, which allows businesses to choose a level of engagement based on their needs. He said the approach helps clarify member benefits and highlights services that have long been available.
“The tiered memberships give members flexibility based on how they want to engage,” Cunningham said.
He also demonstrated the “Community Clicker,” a new digital platform designed to centralize business listings, events, job postings and promotions through a website and mobile apps.
“This work only matters if it’s practical,” Cunningham said. “Everything we’re showing tonight is designed to be just that.”
Chamber President Ryan Finnen said the changes reflect direct feedback from members and an effort to better support businesses facing ongoing challenges.
“Businesses have dealt with a lot the past few years,” Finnen said. “What we kept hearing was that members want education, networking opportunities and more exposure, and this is our effort to answer that call.”
Colleen Wrysinski spoke about continued outreach and encouraged members to stay engaged with chamber programs and events.
“This only works if people participate,” Wrysinski said. “The chamber is here to be a resource, but it depends on members staying involved and using what’s being offered.”
The meeting also included the introduction of Elijah Rodriguez, who is working with the chamber on sponsorships and strategic partnerships. Rodriguez said the chamber’s new digital platforms provide expanded opportunities for businesses to promote themselves.
“It’s a really exciting refresh for the chamber,” Rodriguez said. “These tools give members more ways to tell their story and connect with the community.”
The meeting concluded with informal networking. Chamber leaders said future quarterly meetings will continue to focus on practical tools, collaboration and member-driven initiatives.
