COLUSA, Calif. (MPG) — The Colusa County Chamber of Commerce will host its first quarterly open membership dinner meeting Thursday, Jan. 22, as part of a broader effort to increase member engagement and outline new programs planned for 2026.
The Colusa Chamber Quarterly Dinner will be held at Rocco’s Bar & Grill, 546 Market St., in Colusa. Dinner begins at 6 p.m., with the meeting scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. The buffet dinner costs $25, and reservations are required in advance.
Chamber Executive Director Jack Cunningham said the quarterly meetings represent a shift in how the chamber connects with its members.
“To the best of my knowledge, the chamber has never done general membership meetings,” Cunningham said. “They’ve always had board meetings, but not meetings where the members could come in, see the business being conducted, ask questions and help with the direction the chamber goes.”
Cunningham said member engagement is a priority for 2026, and the quarterly meetings are intended to create more transparency and participation.
“The best way to kick that energy off is to have these meetings,” he said. “It gives members an opportunity to participate, give their input and really see what their membership offers.”
Board Chair Ryan Finnan will call the meeting to order, with the full board expected to attend. The program will follow a formal agenda but is designed to be approachable, Cunningham said, noting that the dinner format is intended to ease members into the new concept.
Presentations will highlight several new chamber initiatives, including a redesigned website and two mobile apps focused on business and community engagement. Cunningham said the tools will allow members to post job openings, promote specials and share information across social media with minimal effort.
“Everything happens automatically and immediately,” Cunningham said. “With the phone app, it takes less than a minute to put something out.”
The chamber will also introduce a new tiered membership structure that clearly outlines benefits available at each level. Cunningham said the goal is to help members better understand the value of their membership, including advertising, sponsorships and event participation.
“There are a lot of benefits available that I don’t think members are even aware they have,” he said.
Additional topics will include sponsorship and advertising opportunities, cottage memberships, and ways members can become involved through board service, volunteering and engagement efforts. The meeting will conclude with closing remarks and adjournment.
Cunningham said the evening will also provide time for networking among members in a business mixer style setting.
