COLUSA, CA (MPG) – What was initially thought to be a competitive matchup between longtime Sacramento Valley League rivals Colusa and Durham didn’t pan out as expected after the RedHawks swept the season series from the Trojans last week by scores of 14-1 and 6-3.

Coming on the heels of tough losses at the Nipomo Tournament, the RedHawks (15-3, 8-0) returned to form against Durham and remained unbeaten in conference play.
In the first game on the road last Wednesday, Colusa put nine runs on the board in the first inning and never looked back as it made the Trojans pay for hitting four batsmen and committing two errors.
Bo Coronado delivered the big blow in the frame with a bases clearing triple to center field.
Coronado finished the day 3-4, as did Luke Kalfsbeek who doubled and drove in three runs, while Sutter Moss went 2 for 3.
Kalfsbeek got the nod on the mound, but pitched only the bottom half of the first, in which he retired the side in order, striking out two.
Julian Mendiola went the final four innings for the ‘Hawks, yielding four hits and striking out five.
Returning home for the series finale, Kalfsbeek returned to the hill where he put in six and a third innings of work, fanning 13, giving up one hit and his first earned runs of the year.

Then with the tying run at the plate, Peyton Humphrey came on in relief to extinguish the threat, as he struck out the final two batters of the game.
At the plate Will McCoy finished 2 for 4 with an RBI double, while Seth Kalisuch, who was also 2 for 4, knocked in two runs with a single in the home half of the first.
Kalfsbeek and Coronado each had two hits apiece for Colusa, which is currently the fourth ranked team in the Northern Section.
This week the RedHawks were in Willows on Tuesday to face a Honkers team that has just one win on the season, hosted Anderson Wednesday in a non-league game and concludes the season series with Willows today at home.
