Colusa 4 – Clear Lake 1  (2/28)

A short-handed RedHawk squad grinded its way to a win in its season opener after putting three runs on the board in the third inning.

Senior Bo Coronado got the start in the RedHawks’ home opener against Clear Lake on Feb. 28.

Sutter Moss singled and Will McCoy walked to lead off the frame, then came around to score respectively on a single by Julian Mendiola and a fielder’s choice by Adan Travis.

Travis crossed the plate for the third run after Luke Pearson punched a single into right.

In the fourth, the RedHawks added to their total when a McCoy sacrifice fly plated Bo Coronado.

Coronado got the nod on the mound going four innings and striking out two before yielding to McCoy who struck out four in two innings of relief.

Mendiola closed out the game by striking out the side.
