Last week was a busy one for the Yellowjackets who picked up wins on consecutive days before dropping its final game of the regular season.

In Durham, Williams got a goal apiece from Daisy Ruiz and Melanie Lopez, along with a shutout in goal from Joselyne Ruiz to take down the Trojans.

Returning home to take on Maxwell, Ruiz struck for two goals while Isabella Santillan also scored a brace and assisted on another to lead the ‘Jackets.

Having to make the trip to Paradise for their third match in as many days, the Yellowjackets were shut out by third place Paradise.

Williams (6-8-3) received the No. 4 seed in the Northern Section CIF Division III playoffs and hosted No. 5 Willows on Feb. 15 in a first round match.

 

Colusa 3 – Willows 1 (2/6)

In its only match last week, Colusa downed Willows on the road to close out the regular season.

Janell Garcia recorded the brace and Lizbet Ayala booted one for good measure for the RedHawks who also won by forfeit over Los Molinos.

Finishing third in the Sacramento Valley League, Colusa (7-9-4) is seeded third in the NSCIF Division IV playoffs and squared off against No. 6 Maxwell at home on Feb. 15.

 

Pierce 2 – Willows 2 (2/8)

Although no statistics were provided, the Bears (4-13-1) played Willows to a draw in their final SVL match.

Pierce, the No. 11 seed in the Northern Section CIF Division II playoffs, faced a tough task in a match against No. 6 Corning on Feb. 13.

 

Maxwell 0 – Paradise 1 (2/5)

Maxwell 2 – Williams 4 (2/8)

After being edged on the road in Paradise to start last week, Maxwell put up a good fight against Williams, but couldn’t hold off the Yellowjackets.

Emma Hendrix scored two first half goals in the loss to the ‘Jackets.

Showing a great deal of improvement of late, the Panthers (1-5-2) garnered the No. 6 seed in the NSCIF Division IV playoffs and traveled to Colusa on Thursday for a first round match.

 

Boys:

Colusa 3 – Willows 0 (2/6)

Colusa 8 – Los Molinos 0 (2/8)

Colusa finished the regular season strong with two shutout wins over Willows and Los Molinos, respectively.

In Willows, Kenneth Arias put two in the back of the net, Cesar Cruz scored once and assisted on another, while Oscar Ramos kept a clean sheet, making four saves in the process.

At home against the visiting Bulldogs, Jesse Medina registered a hat trick, Cruz netted a brace, while Charlie Santana assisted on four goals, in addition to scoring one himself.

Oziel Morales added a goal, as did Francisco Hernandez.

Ramos recorded his second straight shutout making another four saves.

As the Sacramento Valley League’s third place team, the RedHawks (8-9-3) are the No. 5 seed in the Northern Section CIF Division III playoffs and made the trip to Palo Cedro on Feb. 15 to take on No. 4 Redding Christian.

 

Pierce 1 – Live Oak 1 (2/6)

Pierce 1 – Willows 1 (2/8)

To close out the regular season, the Bears played two matches last week that ended in draws.

Juan Mondragon scored the lone goal against Live Oak, although no information from the match against Willows that was marred by a brawl between the two squads was available.

As a result of the incident, both Pierce (6-8-4) and Willows were removed from playoff contention, effectively bringing their seasons to an end.

 

Maxwell 0 – Williams 4 (2/8)

In its only match last week, the Panthers suffered their second straight setback at the hands of the Yellowjackets.

However, Maxwell (5-3-1), the second-place team in the Mid-Valley League, received the No. 3 seed in the NSCIF Division III playoffs and hosted No. 6 Hamilton City on Thursday.
