WILLIAMS, CA (MPG) – A small squad in both number and size, the Williams Yellowjackets have struggled this season as they continue to learn the nuances of the game.
Such was the case again last Tuesday night, at home, when they could not hold off visiting Maxwell and, as a result, dropped their Mid-Valley League contest by a score of 22-39.

Although Williams got a 14-point performance from Kim Guevara, it was not enough to offset the contributions of Maxwell’s Emma Hendrix and Camila Hernandez, who controlled the pace of the game.
For her part, Hendrix logged her 12th double-double of the season with 17 points and 15 rebounds, in addition to making six steals and five blocks.
Hernandez finished with nine points and made six steals.
In their final games last week, Williams fell 21-82 to Hamilton City, while Maxwell suffered a 30-46 defeat at the hands of CORE Butte.
To close out the regular season, the Yellowjackets (1-15, 0-8) were on the road to play CORE Butte on Tuesday and are home to Biggs tonight.
The Panthers (8-7, 4-4) were in Biggs on Feb. 6 and Los Molinos on Feb. 9.
