Boys:
Williams 10 – Redding Christian 1 (1/31)
Williams 3 – Hamilton City 1 (2/2)
Williams 3 – Maxwell 3 (2/3)
Neither Mother Nature nor Mid-Valley League opponents seemingly have the ability to slow down the Yellowjackets this season as they extended their unbeaten streak to 14 straight with three wins last week.
Playing in the rain last Wednesday, Williams struck early and often against the visiting Lions from Redding Christian.
Kaled Rosales led the scoring parade, with a brace of goals and three assists, while Leo Hernandez also netted two goals in the match.
Scoring one goal apiece was Gerardo Navarro, Angel Villanueva, Octavio Parra, Azael Velazquez, Adrian Solis, and Salvador Ruiz
Ernie Lemus assisted on three of the goals, and Rigoberto Ramirez helped on two.
In its second match last week, Hernandez, Lemus, and Rosales each put one in the back of the net to lift Williams over visiting Hamilton City.
The ‘Jackets closed out the week in a rare Saturday contest, where Ruiz scored twice off assists from Rosales and Lemus, while Luis Jimenez added another goal for good measure on the road against the Panthers.
Williams looked to keep its record unblemished on the season starting Wednesday when it hit the road to face Durham, before finishing the regular season with a home match against Maxwell on Thursday.
Pierce 1 – Winters 2 (1/30)
Pierce 11 – Los Molinos 0 (2/1)
Down 1-0 at the half to visiting Winters, Pierce netted a goal, but it wasn’t enough as the Warriors got one more as well to put the game away.
The Bears got back on track two days later however, with a blowout win at home over Los Molinos.
Statistics were not provided by Pierce (6-8-2, 3-4-2), who played its final Sacramento Valley League match at LeMaster Field against Live Oak on Feb. 6.
Colusa 1 – Live Oak 1 (1/30)
Colusa 1 – Winters 2 (2/1)
Kenneth Aris accounted for the RedHawks lone score, while in goal Oscar Ramos made 10 saves in a match with the Lions that ended in a draw.
Holding a 1-0 advantage over visiting Winters, Colusa yielded two second half goals and as a result came up short to the Warriors.
The RedHawks (6-9-3, 2-3-3) hoped for better results this week when they were in Willows on Tuesday and home to Los Molinos on Thursday.
Girls:
Williams 0 – Las Plumas 8 (1/29)
Williams 2 – Hamilton City 2 (2/2)
Williams 2 – Maxwell 2 (2/3)
After a rough outing in Oroville against Las Plumas, the Yellowjackets shored up their defense and played both Hamilton City and Maxwell to draws.
Against the Mid-Valley League’s first place team, Williams got goals from Daisy Ruiz and Isabella Santillan, but were unable to come away with the go-ahead score.
In Maxwell the following day, Santillan had a goal and an assist, while Melanie Lopez also put one in the back of the net.
This week is another busy one for the ‘Jackets (4-7-3, 1-2-2) who played in Durham on Wednesday, hosted Maxwell on Thursday, and are in Paradise today.
Pierce 0 – Winters 9 (1/30)
Pierce – Los Molinos (FF)
After being shut out by Winters, the Bears picked up a forfeit win over Los Molinos.
Pierce (4-12, 3-5) had a game at home against Live Oak on Feb. 6, before heading to Willows on Thursday.
Colusa 0 – Live Oak 3 (1/30)
Colusa 2 – Winters 10 (2/2)
Home field advantage wasn’t enough to help the RedHawks last week as they dropped matches to the Sacramento Valley League’s two top teams.
Colusa (6-9-4, 5-4), who played its only match of this week in Willows on Feb. 6, did not make any statistics available.
