COLUSA, CA (MPG) – After an extended season that resulted in a state football championship, it comes as no surprise that the Colusa RedHawks had five players named to the 2023 All-Northern Section squad.
For the season, the RedHawks (14-0) outscored their opponents 483-156, averaging 347 yards of offense per game and were ranked No. 3 in the section behind No. 1 Pleasant Valley and No. 2 Chico.

Leading the nearly unstoppable attack was the Sacramento Valley League’s Offensive MVP Bo Coronado, who garnered first team All-Section recognition as well.
In his final season for Colusa the senior quarterback completed 152 out of 221 attempts for 2632 yards and 31 touchdowns, which equated to a 137.3 passer rating and third in yards among the section’s passing leaders.

Joining Coronado on the first team offense was senior tight end Isaiah Travis, who was second in the Northern Section in receiving yardage after hauling in 43 passes for 900 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Although Travis was recognized for his offensive accomplishments, he was also a significant factor for the RedHawk defense having finished his last season in Colusa with 61 tackles including seven sacks and 17 others for losses.

Rounding out the RedHawks named to the All-Section first team was senior linebacker Will McCoy, the SVL’s co-Defensive MVP, and the heart of the defensive unit having made 101 total tackles or 7.2 per game.
Another two-way player for Colusa, McCoy additionally rushed for 823 yards and five touchdowns.

Representing the RedHawks on the second team offense was senior receiver Landon Humphrey, who caught 35 balls for 625 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Colusa’s final All-Section nod went to junior safety Adan Travis, who was selected to the second team defense.

The younger Travis brother made 49 tackles and intercepted two passes from his spot in the secondary, but was also instrumental in the offense, finding the end zone 18 times.
