COLUSA, CA (MPG) — Wild Hair took first place in the Colusa County Chamber of Commerce’s “Christmas Glow Off,” earning the right to display the chamber’s traveling trophy for the year and a $100 gift certificate to Messick’s Hardware.
“This year’s Colusa Glow-off Champion, Wild Hair,” Chamber Executive Director Jack Cunningham said. “We had a great response from our businesses and departments, and a whopping turnout of voters who came to see the displays and make their choices.”

The Colusa County Arts Council placed second and received a $50 certificate, while Tri Counties Bank finished third and earned a $25 certificate.
The contest included 14 participating businesses and departments. Community members voted by visiting locations and scanning a QR code to submit their choice.
Cunningham said the event’s biggest payoff was the community experience itself, with residents and visitors driving around town to see holiday displays and “Christmas spirit on display.”
The chamber plans to bring the contest back next year. “We’ll be back next year, to kick-off Small Business Saturday, November 28, with Colusa Christmas Glow-off II,” Cunningham said.
Wild Hair’s winning display featured a “Merry Grinchmas” theme.
