COLUSA, CA (MPG) — The Colusa County Elections Department is reassuring voters that election operations will continue without interruption following a recent ownership change involving its voting system provider.
On Oct. 9, Dominion Voting Systems, the vendor used by Colusa County, was acquired by Liberty Vote, a fully American-owned election technology company. County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters Cristy Jayne Edwards said the transition will not affect the county’s voting process, certification, or equipment.

“All elections in Colusa County are conducted with fairness, transparency, and impartiality,” the department stated in a release Friday. “Our actions are guided by principle, fairness, and the law.”
Liberty Vote is owned by Chairman and Founder Scott Leindecker, a former St. Louis City Election Director with more than 15 years of experience as CEO of KNOWiNK, the nation’s largest federally certified electronic poll book provider. Colusa County does not use electronic poll books and continues to rely on paper ballots for all elections.
The department emphasized that Liberty Vote’s acquisition will not change local operations or certification standards.
“There will be no interruption to staff, equipment, certification, or operability of software and hardware,” Edwards said.
County officials reminded voters that election integrity means fairness in the entire voting process, open transparency, and nonpartisan service. The department reaffirmed its commitment to upholding state and federal laws and ensuring all votes are counted accurately and securely.
