COLUSA, CA (MPG) — The Friends of the Colusa County Free Library received a $20,000 boost this month thanks to a partnership between Colusa-Glenn Farm Credit and CoBank.
Colusa-Glenn Farm Credit contributed $10,000 to the nonprofit, which CoBank matched through its Sharing Success program. The funds will help support seven branch libraries throughout Colusa County.

Stacey Costello, Colusa County Librarian, said the contribution will strengthen programs that reach all ages.
“This remarkable $20,000 gift is a powerful investment in our community,” Costello said. “The Friends make so much possible, from funding programs that bring families together, to supporting literacy initiatives, to strengthening our collections so every reader can find something new.”
Nancy Newlin, a member of the Friends, said the organization is grateful.
“The donation will go a long way in the whole community,” she said. “So many people benefit from this, and we’ll use it in the best way we can.”
The Friends of the Colusa County Free Library provide funding for children’s story times, summer reading programs, author visits, and digital access to hoopla. They also operate The Bookworm, a used bookstore at 440 Market St. in Colusa, open Wednesday through Saturday. More information is available at www.colusafol.org
