Residents Hold Vigil for Charlie Kirk

COLUSA, CA (MPG) — Residents gathered Saturday evening at Veterans Memorial Park to honor Charlie Kirk, co-founder and executive director of the student organization Turning Point USA.

Attendees stand with candles during the vigil for Charlie Kirk in Colusa.

Kirk was assassinated last week while attending a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. Authorities have taken a suspect into custody.

About 100 people attended the candlelight vigil in downtown Colusa. Many held candles and some wore patriotic clothing. Participants prayed, read Bible passages, and shared messages of encouragement.

“God filled the park. He was moving through the hearts and minds of all who attended. It was beautiful, respectful, and moving,” said Lauren Manor, coordinator of the vigil. “People spoke, more than I anticipated. Fear was absent. People showed love and strength, even in a time of hurting.”

Kirk is survived by his wife and two children.
